Hey Guys, how's it going?
I hope everyone read Arvind's review of The Pentel GraphGear 1000 Mechanical Drafting Pencil, it was his first review since becoming an official member of the team. Today we're going to be checking out "Movie Buff", a trivia card game that promises to stand out from the rest, thanks to Golden Bell Entertainment for sending it out, and let's take a look.

The box is small and portable, like most card games these days. The instructions are clear and concise, they even put a QR Code on the back which leads to an awesome instructional video.
"From Hollywood to Bollywood, Movie Buff plays movies from all over the world from any time period. As long as you have the knowledge then you can do it!"
This brings me to one of nice things about Movie Buff, the game is one of the simplest and still awesomely fun games that I have ever played! Some games, such as Speakeasy which I previously reviewed, are made for large groups. From my experience, when you do have a large group, some groups will absolutely not sit in one place and listen to someone drone on about rules; in these cases, a simple but fun game is absolutely essential. That's why I like Movie Buff so much, it's simple and easy to explain(I explained it in under a minute), but still fun! The game also has a cool strategy element, the knowledge of each player. If one player starts a "take" with a movie that no-one or very few people at the table are familiar with, than that player has a huge advantage until that take is finished, because the first player to get rid of all of their cards wins the game, that player is forcing everyone else to try and draw a card that will let them skip their turn or end that "take". The game even has a "linking" element. This makes it so that every "take"(role, quote, movie, actor) has to be linked to the next and the next and so on. After one "take", the next "take" has to be linked to the previous one. Say a player mentioned "Harrison Ford" as an actor for the previous "take", another person mentioned "Carrie Fisher" as another actor. For the next "take", the person who plays the "Movie" card to start the "take" will have to mention a movie that either "Harrison Ford" or "Carrie Fisher" acted in. So the game has a nice linking element that forces people to really have the knowledge, or strategy in order to avert every other player and win the game.
Final Verdict - 10/10

This score is not firm, it depends on what kind of a person and what kind of hobbies you have. If you are an avid movie watcher, you love movies and know absolutely everything about them, this is the game for you; it stands out from other trivia games in game mechanics and how it emphasizes that "YOU Are The Expansion".
If you are not a movie lover, you've watched your fair share but you don't consider yourself a fanatic, this game is not for you, you will not like it, it will not be fun. Since I fall more towards the latter type of person, it was a fun experience to look from a different perspective at who this game is meant for and why I shouldn't give it a bad review because I'm not the type of person this game is built for.
Thanks for reading everyone, I'll catch you later!
