Misfit Flash : Worth a look for the money!

Hey Guys, hows it going?

Today we're going to be checking out a piece of tech that I have owned for almost 2 years, and I've been loving it. This is The Misfit Flash, the $12 fitness tracker.

A friend and I both picked up this watch for $15 at Best Buy's 2015 Black Friday sale. Initially, I had some syncing issues which I will cover later but, once those were dealt with, this was a pleasure to use!

First up, the design. The Flash has an interesting design. It's made out of this rubbery, silicone-ish, flexible plastic. It may sound cheap, but it's extremely comfortable and feels nice. The band is really simple and feels nice on my hand. It comes in a variety of colors which is another plus with The Misfit Flash. The actual watch module is just a rubberized, matte disk which holds all of the electronics. It is also I like the design because it's extremely light, comes in a bunch of colors, and feels and looks good. It even comes with the clip on band thing in the box.

The functionality is pretty awesome. It features sleep tracking, step counting, calorie count, and activity tagging(which uses specific alogrithms to track specific activities like swimming). I also features a clean, nice app. If you do not prefer the official app, they even have Google Fit support. One of my gripes with this is the terrible syncing. The first time I opened it and attempted to sync the watch with my phone, it would never work. Never. I tried everything, resetting it, using multiple different phones. Nothing. The only thing that worked was returning this unit to the store and purchasing a new one. Since that time I had recently gotten back to this watch(it had been sitting in a drawer for quite a while) and it seems that Misfit has been very keen in addressing sync issues, the have hugely improved syncing the watch since I had last used it and I have had no problems whatsoever.

Speaking of functionality, The Misfit Flash also has a separate "Cyclist's Edition" which can be used for bike rides and tracks RPM, Distance, Speed, and displays Map Information through your mobile device. The normal Flash also features capability to link it to services such as IFTTT and other things via their free "Misfit Link" app.

Final Verdict : 9/10

_______________________________

Although it may not have some of the other flashy features such as a heart rate monitor among other things that other, higher-end fitness and smart watches have, The Misfit Flash is a light, super cheap, quality fitness tracker that you should definitely check out.

Thanks for reading guys!
