This game is AMAZING...

Hey Guys, how's it going? Welcome to Day 8, the very last day of Holiday Hooligans where, IT'S CHRISTMAS!!! Merry Christmas to all of my fans and readers and thanks for an awesome year and helping me transition from my old website to Yay! or Nay? Reviews!

Now, HUGE thanks to Smirk and Dagger Games for sending out Dead Last for me to review! Dead Last is a game where in every round, you vote for who you think should DIE in that round, you can use any means of communication in order to signal your friends. The instructions were a bit confusing for me so I created an altered way of playing that I think fills in some of the gaps in the instructions.

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Here's how it goes:

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Each player needs to pick a color that they want to be(My favorites are "Teal" and "Black") then, they have to find a double-sided card with their player's color and art both sides. Next, each player gets double-sided cards with every other player's color and art on one-side, and "DEAD LAST" on the other, each player also get's their color's/player's "Ambush" card. The 6 "Final Showdown" Cards should be placed on the playing surface for use when "Final Showdowns" are in order. Done with all of that? Great! You're FINALLY ready to play!

Every round you conspire with your friends in ANY way/shape/or form in order to get them to vote for the same person you're going to vote for, once all voting cards are placed down AT THE SAME TIME, this is how you decide who wins the round:

Person who got the most votes - DEAD

Anyone who did NOT vote for that person - DEAD

Everyone else - ALIVE

If you think you are going to get the most votes , then you can play the "Ambush" card, if you DO get the most votes, then you stay alive and get to KILL one of the players who picked you. If you DON'T get the most votes, you DIE.

If only 2 players remain, see below for what to do.

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Final Showdown

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

If only 2 players remain at the end of the round, they have a "FINAL SHOWDOWN",

here's how that goes:

There are 3 different final showdown cards, each player gets one of each.

Share - If BOTH players pick "Share" they both get 3 pieces of gold, when all the 3's run out switch to 4's

Steal - If ONE player picks "Steal" and the other picks "Share", the player who picked "Steal" gets 4 pieces of gold. If BOTH players pick "Steal" then both players get NOTHING and the DEAD players get 3 pieces of gold each, switch to 4 if no 3's are available.

Grab and Go - If ONE player picks "Grab and Go", then that player gets 3 pieces of gold no matter what, if BOTH players pick "Grab and Go", then it works out just like a "Share", each player get's 3 pieces of gold.

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Ending the Game

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Whenever I play, whoever is the first to 30 pieces of gold in total is declared "The Winner".

___________________________________________________________________________________________

We finally get to the actual review! Dead Last is rated 14+ but I would give it a rating of 12+, the only "unsuitable for younger children" parts of this game are, the concept of the game(No Duh!) and the art on the cards(there are some images of knives with red "blood" on them). The game is packaged nicely, but there is a LOT of wasted space in the box. When it arrives, the cards are packaged horizontally in the little plastic slits but, this is EXTREMELY UNEFFECTIVE because there is a whole area underneath the cards that is just EMPTY, WHY?! Smirk and Dagger could have made the box smaller and more portable by getting rid of that space, or even packaging the cards in a more cost and space efficient way! The game also takes quite a while to set up since, there are SO MANY cards but, that can also be a good thing because the game supports UP TO 12 PLAYERS!!! On Smirk and Dagger's website(along with Dead Last's Amazon listing and the game box) it says that the game is for "6-10 Players", that's not entirely true because 6 players is the minimum you need for the game to be fun(you have more options/people to kill). The BARE MINIMUM amount of players you need to play is 3(but that would be so BORING). Finally, we get to the price. At $20 on Amazon, it may be a bit pricey for a card game, but this game is EXTREMELY FUN, I played this with several of my friends and one friend in particular, purchased the game to play with his family when he was on vacation once he had gotten home.

Final Verdict - 9.5/10

The game is extremely fun, a couple weeks ago I said "Exploding Kittens" was my "All-time favorite game", that was due to it's simplicity, portability, and HILARIOUSLY FUN gameplay. But, even though Dead Last's instructions are a bit confusing, and it takes a while to set up, despite it's sort of expensive price tag it's a great buy for anyone above 12!

Thanks for reading guys, and MERRY CHRISTMAS!!!
