My all-time favorite game!
Hey guy's, how are you doing?
The holidays are flying on by and we're at Day 4 of Holiday Hooligans!
Today we're going to be taking a look at my favorite game...EVER!
Exploding Kittens is a fun, family-friendly card game with absolutely AMAZING ART!!!!! The game mechanics/how to play are EXTREMELY simple:
At the start of the game each player gets 1 Defuse card and 4 cards drawn from the shuffled deck. When it is your turn you draw a card form the top of the deck OR play 2 matching cats to obtain someone else's card OR draw a special card like: Skip, Shuffle, See the Future, Nope, or Favor. The cards powers/what it can do are printed neatly at the bottom of each card. If you draw an "Exploding Kitten" Card, you blow up and are out of the game UNLESS you defuse it with a defuse card. The last player standing wins!
This game may seem simple but it is SO fun to play over and over again, it's quick but not too short to play. Everything you need to play(except the players) is included in the small and easy to carry box. There are 6 defuse cards included, so it CAN be played with 6 players, but the game box and website say that it can be played with 5 players maximum. That's more than enough for most families but, if you are playing with a bunch of friends in the school library during recess or a free period(like me and my friends do everyday), spots to play will fill up REALLY QUICKLY. They sort of solve the problem by selling expansions but those cost $12.99, the full game is only $16.99! Which brings us to my ONLY gripe with this game, the price. For $16.99 your getting 56 beautifully illustrated cards in a high-quality portable carrying box, but that shouldn't cost $16.99, the reason you are paying that much is because this a fun, high-quality, re-playable up to infinity times game. I would like it more if it was around the $12 range, but this is a GREAT first attempt for a new game-maker that's just gotten into the business.
Final Verdict: 10/10
This is the first product EVER reviewed on Yay! or Nay? to receive a full 10/10. The only "problem" is the price. But like I said, you're getting a high-quality, fun game that's going to satisfy you and your kids for a LONG TIME, so I can't really complain.
Thanks for reading guys, catch you in the next one!
