A Throwback to the olden days...

Hey Guys, how are you doing?

Welcome to Day 3 of Holiday Hooligans where this time it's not a pen or a pencil that I'm covering(I hear you in the audience going, "FINALLY"). Today we're taking a look at a family friendly card/tabletop game that is both fun and educational at the same time.

First of all, the box is a LOT smaller than it may look but that makes it great for travel because EVERYTHING you need to play is included right in the box. The art on the cards, manual, game box, and party board is absolutely AWESOME! It's brightly colored, nicely detailed and all in the classic retro/8-bit theme. What you get inside the box is pretty good for the price as well: 8-Bit Detailed Color Manual, Whiteboard Marker, Cardboard Tablet for writing names of players and players who have...passed away, 58 Trail Cards, 32 Calamity Cards, 26 Supply Cards, and one 6-sided die. All of these items feel high quality and don't wear out easily. The manual is very detailed but I had a hard time figuring out the instructions so here's my version of the game:

All players get 5 Supply Cards and 5 Trail Cards. If a player runs COMPLETELY out of either one, they can draw 5 more from the deck. When 5 trial cards have been played they are stacked on top of each other, this process repeats until there are 5 stacks of 5 cards each, when that happens the game is won.

The game teaches kids about the dangers of The Oregon Trail in a fun way. The MSRP for this game is $14.99 but Target is ALWAYS doing sales on it, I picked it up for $10, right now you can get it for $12.99.

Final Verdict: 9/10

At a nicely priced game that is fun and educational at the same time, it can be played over and over again with the same amount of fun each time!

Thanks for reading guys, see you later!
